Description
The objective of the Water Supply and Sanitation Access Program Project ( (Programme d’Accès aux Services d’Eau et d’Assainissement (PASEA)) for Congo, Democratic Republic of (DRC) is to increase access to basic drinking water supply and sanitation services in selected provinces of the DRC. The MHH component includes i) educating girls about menstruation, ii) improving school infrastructure and iii) strengthening the market for menstrual product production. The implementation is supported through a national MHM Taskforce comprising key ministries. The first phase from 2023 to 2029 has a total budget of $400 million with $3 million for the MHH interventions.

Description
Since 2021, the Department of Health and the Health Service Executive (HSE) has been allocating a budget of €2.44 million for period dignity measures, including the provision of free menstrual products, education and research, supporting those most in need (e.g., the homeless, those living with addiction, minorities including Travellers, Roma and refugees and those experiencing consistent poverty). Dignidade Menstrual

Description
In March 2023, the Federal Government announced the start of the menstrual dignity programme (program dignidade menstrual) to implement the law on menstrual health (law number 14.214/2021). The program ensures the free and continuous distribution of sanitary napkins to about 24 million people between 10 and 49 years old who are students, homeless or incarcerated women, or from low-income households, through accredited pharmacies throughout Brazil. In addition, the program includes training and education for the public and through public officials. The budget allocated is BRL 418 million.
